Hopeful Harbour Island Wedding Weekend | Harbour Island Wedding Photographer | Leah & Chris
They say third time’s the charm, and it was for Chris & Leah. I met Chris & Leah last year when they were planning their wedding in Hope Town, or as they affectionally call it their second home. After Hurricane Dorian Chris & Leah helped bring supplies to Abaco and raised money through Hope 4 Hope Town. They were still determined to have a Hope Town wedding but finally ended up moving the location to Harbour Island, another favorite place of theirs. With the onset of COVID-19 and the set backs for travel they had to postpone the wedding from May until July.
After arriving in Harbour Island for the wedding weekend we had a few beautiful sunny days for the Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party at Romora Bay but what a rainy day the wedding day turned out to be. Nonetheless Chris & Leah took it in stride and didn’t let it bother them, rain on your wedding day is good luck right?! Coral Sands Resort was prepared with a back-up location when the ceremony had to be moved from the beach to a covered porch area. It poured most of the day but as the sun began to set, the sky turned pink and a full double rainbow peeked from behind the clouds. This was a beautiful sign, through all the changing plans that everything was meant to be.
The reception area, decorated with tropical palms, overlooked the Atlantic Ocean and Pink Sand beach. After dinner and dancing they ended the night with Junkanoo, a Bahamian celebration tradition complete with colourful costumes and rake n’ scrape music.
